Why are my new Ugg Bailey Button boots folding over above the button?

what size do you wear? my b/f wants a pair to cut down anyways so he can skate in them.he wants to make ugg skate shoes lol, so he’d be cutting the boot shaft off anyways.then you could buy a new pair if he buys them from you.
